Death Valley National Park est un parc national situé à l'est de la Sierra Nevada dans les zones arides du bassin des Grands des États-Unis. Certaines parties du parc sont dans le sud du comté d'Inyo et le nord de San Bernardino County dans l'Est de la Californie, avec une petite extension dans le sud-ouest du comté de Nye et l'extrême sud du comté de Esmeralda, dans le Nevada. En outre, il est une enclave (Devil's Hole) dans le sud du comté de Nye. Le parc couvre, englobant Saline Valley, une grande partie de Panamint Valley, la quasi-totalité de la Vallée de la Mort, et des parties de plusieurs chaînes de montagnes. Death Valley National Monument a été déclaré monument national des Etats-Unis en 1933, plaçant la région sous la protection du gouvernement fédéral.
