Wister is a town in Le Flore County, Oklahoma, United States. It is part of the Fort Smith, Arkansas-Oklahoma Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 1,002 at the 2000 census. Wister is located at (34.968411, -94.723191). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.5 square miles (3.8 kmΒ²), of which, 1.4 square miles (3.7 kmΒ²) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 kmΒ²) of it (2.04%) is water.
