Winter Harbor is a town in Hancock County, Maine, United States. The population was 988 at the 2000 census. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 65.7 square miles (170.2 km²), of which, 14.4 square miles (37.2 km²) of it is land and 51.3 square miles (132.9 km²) of it (78.13%) is water. As of the census of 2000, there were 988 people, 402 households, and 278 families residing in the town. The population density was 68.8 people per square mile (26.5/km²).
