Brookton ist eine Stadt in der Region Wheatbelt of Western Australia, 138 km von der Landeshauptstadt, Perth über die Brookton Highway, wo es kreuzt die Great Southern Highway. Die Stadt ist auch auf der Great Southern Eisenbahnlinie entfernt. Es liegt im Herzen, und ist der Sitz der Regierung für das Auenland von Brookton. Die ersten Siedler und Gründer der Brookton Bezirk, zog John Seabrook (1818-1891), in das Gebiet im Jahre 1846 bald nach der Heirat, und nannte seine Eigenschaft "Brookton House". Er blieb der einzige Europäer in der Gegend, abgesehen von ambulanten Sandelholz schneider bis zu seinem Stiefsohn, AW Robinson, nahm angrenzenden Flächen im Jahr 1864.
