Newport è una città sulla Aquidneck Island a Newport County, Rhode Island, Stati Uniti, a circa 30 miglia (48 km) a sud della Provvidenza. Conosciuto come un nuovo resort estivo di Inghilterra e per il famoso Newport Mansions, è la casa del Salve Regina University e la stazione navale di Newport che ospita la United States Naval War College, il Naval Undersea Warfare Center, e un importante centro di formazione degli Stati Uniti Navy. La città è il capoluogo della contea di Newport County (una contea che non ha più le funzioni di governo). Newport è conosciuta per essere la città di alcune delle "White Summer Houses" durante le amministrazioni dei presidenti Dwight D. Eisenhower e John F. Kennedy.
